  • Nurse Practitioner - AAA Anesthesia Associates

    CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE PRACTITIONER

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Anesthesia Associates of Allentown is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) to join their practice.

    We provide a variety of anesthesia services to help make patients comfortable during surgery or a medical procedure. We tailor our approach based on the patient’s age, physical status, lab results and medical history, as well as the type of surgery/procedure being performed and the requirements of the surgeon.

    Anesthesia services include General, Regional, Obstetrics (OB), Perioperative Pain Management, Cardiac, Pediatric cases.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • This person will work in our Preadmission Testing Clinic for the evaluation of patient clinical readiness for anticipated surgery
    • The position will also include Inpatient evaluations and rounding on our acute pain patients following their surgery
    • M-F with no calls
    • Possible weekend morning pain rounds with extra compensation

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program
    • Experience in both Adults and Peds

  • Pre-Op Registered Nurse (RN) - full time

    Nashville, TN 

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Pre-Op Registered Nurseworks in collaboration with the anesthesia physician to assess the physical needs of the surgical patients and implement a plan of care. Orders, interprets, and reports clinical test results to the physician prior to surgery. Submits medication orders required, documents patient conditions, and provides patients with an overview on the form of anesthesia to be used and educates them on the upcoming procedures.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Minimum of two years nursing experience in critical care/ICU
    • Completion of an accredited nursing program, certification in critical care, and a Tennessee state RN license
    • Bachelor's degree preferred.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

    • Compiles scheduling information from computer, hardcopy schedules, and surgeons’ offices to obtain surgery dates, procedures, patient contact information, and appointment times.
    • Gathers previous medical records including cardiac and/or pulmonary testing and other anesthesia records, prepare copies for current surgical records, and forward to appropriate departments as necessary.
    • Obtains pre-admission medical histories and physical data on surgical patients through personal interviews via telephone or in-person to determine anesthesia delivery plan.
    • Evaluates and determines current health status noting medications prescribed and frequency of dosages.
    • Provides interpretations on medical status, records data collected, and provides reports to physicians.
    • Prepares copies and compiles anesthesia packets including company history, anesthesia orders, and consent forms as required.
    • Follows instructions provided by physicians in preparing the patients for surgery.
    • Completes anesthesia physicians’ orders for appropriate lab tests and medications required for specific procedures
    • Reviews and interprets lab test results and provides guidance on pre-admission treatments.

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

    • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations and practices to give and evaluate patient care.
    • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish and maintain a safe work environment.
    • Knowledge of advanced concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of critical care and surgical pre-op nursing.

  • Medical Scheduling Coordinator

    SCHEDULING COORDINATOR       

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Scheduling Coordinator coordinates CRNA and MD schedules with hospital surgical procedures ensuring all cases are covered.  Backup work schedules are also prepared in case of potential last minute sick call outs.  Postings and communications on completed on daily work and call schedules are distributed to appropriate personnel.  This individual is also responsible for corresponding with and responding to emails from various departments and either handling or forwarding these as needed, as well as, answering phone calls and voice messages, and either handling these or forwarding messages to the anesthesia staff (MDs and CRNAs) as needed. 

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    Scheduling

    Ensures the appropriate number of MDs (anesthesiologists) and CRNAs (certified registered nurse anesthetists) are available for scheduled surgical procedures by determining availability verses vacations and sick calls and the number of rooms for coverage

    Pulls worksheet from QGenda Scheduling software completes assignments of CRNAs and MDs to specific OR (operating room) sites as well as outside the OR procedure sites

    Ensures Pediatric cases in various O.R. sites are assigned with appropriate Pediatric team anesthetists

    Follows up with sick or call-in staff for next day’s work status to ensure staffing counts accurate

    Prepares backup work schedule for potential last minute sick employees; makes phone calls to fill shifts and provides updates to the office on last minute schedule changes

    Posts work and call schedules for each site and for office

    Notifies all staff of assignments via email

    Makes any last minute O.R. site changes, makes staffing adjustments as need and communicates this to the boardrunner and affected staff as needed

    Makes out-of-O.R. assignments (MDs and CRNAs) on electronic O.R. board for the boardrunner.  Coordinates any changes with the O.R. boardrunner.

    Communicates any last minute staffing changes, i.e. sick call ins, emergency leaves, etc. to Admin staff, Nightcralwer and Boardrunner as such occurs.

    Coordinates with the chief operations officer, office scheduling coordinators and admin. assistants on staffing issues and management of schedule changes for both MDs and CRNAs

    Communicates with credentialing coordinators on certification and licensing issues and adjusts schedules accordingly

    Daily pulls weekday call report of MDs and CRNAs and communicates on-call Anesthesia staff to various hospital departments and house nursing supervisors.

    In maintaining accurate assignments/scheduling as needed:  receives and maintains notices of meetings, staffing requests, particular procedures that will require specific team assignments

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION:High school diploma.

    Seven to ten years administrative, secretarial, or medical receptionist experience or equivalent required 

    Extensive knowledge of scheduling and working with professional level personnel

    Good understanding of administrative functions in a busy office managing multiple tasks accurately and in a timely fashion

    Moderate computer knowledge including use of Microsoft Office software and peripheral equipment

    Basic knowledge of medical billing procedures including ICD9 and CPT coding preferred 

    Excellent customer service skills

    Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Patient Financial Services Representative

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • The representative is responsible to answer all incoming calls, from general calls to campaign generated calls. The representative determines the callers needs and directs the call to the appropriate department and/or individual, administration, billing and/or collections.   • Revenue Cycle (Medical Billing) Specialist

    Job Description

    • Efficiently and professionally resolve Insurance accounts analyzing and reviewing for payment resolution, working all assigned rejections and denials.
    • Professionally answer incoming telephone calls from Payers and patients providing answers to questions and concerns about billing statements. Return all unanswered calls within 24 hours of receipt.
    • Provide status on all claims within 30 to 45 days of claim filing date by calling Insurance or checking online.
    • Handle all correspondence within 1 week of receipt.
    • Prepare and sends written appeals when necessary with appropriate documentation.
    • Follow up on active status reports and process refund in a timely fashion.
    • Work exception reports, review EOB’s for correct contract payment.
    • Contact Insurance for correct reimbursement either by a telephone call or sending a provider dispute form.
    • All work on each account should be accurately documented in the system on the appropriate account and date of service.
    • Handle all questions and Insurance accounts from Patient Financial Services and Revenue Cycle staff.
    • Other duties and/or projects may be assigned when necessary.

    Job Requirements

    • Minimum 2 years medical billing experience or 1 year along with a course in Medical Billing.

    REQUIREMENTS
